Trail Maintenance in Butano State Park.
The Singleaires help Butano State Park in a big way! This beautiful Park is near the coast just south of Half Moon Bay
and Pescadero. (map) The second Saturday of every month we give our hearts and hands to the towering
mixed Redwood forest and streams from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM No experience required. We provide the tools and guidance. (Bring work gloves if you have them.)
Mark your calendar for trail maintenance on these 2013 dates: Feb 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, Aug 3, Sep 7, Oct 5, Nov 2, Dec 7.
Afterwards, enjoy a campfire dinner among the best people in the world who
care about the forests we hike in, just like you. After dinner you may opt for the free overnight camping under the Redwood
trees in the fresh air as a reward for your hard work during the day. There is nothing like a campfire breakfast in the morning with the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the redwoods. Then it’s off to our regular scheduled Sunday Hikes or just hang out in the park and continue to catch
up on whatever or just enjoy the park. Dinners and breakfast may be potluck at the leaders
discretion Please make a reservation more than one week in advance. Although this is a regular monthly event, please first confirm it in the quarterly schedule and then reserve a place for yourself per the instructions in the schedule.
Treat yourself to a day in the redwoods. Learn new skills. Make new friends. Work at your own pace. Wear long sleeves, long pants, boots, and work gloves and bring a lunch to eat on the trail. Please call one week in advance of any scheduled Saturday. Call Gene Luna / Betsy Kogut at or Ellen Hill at .
