April 15 - 17 (Mon - Wed) Point Reyes National Seashore Outing. - RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. This trip is on, A few spaces are still open. After that we will have a wait list in case someone should need to drop out. Join us for two nights at the Pt. Reyes Hostel and three days of hiking, games and comradery! We will meet at the National Seashore Headquarters at noon on Monday Apr 15 for a picnic lunch and some short hikes on nearby trails. Then drive to check-in, at the Pt.
Reyes Hostel. All bedding is provided by the hostel. We are reserving the entire Bunkhouse for the Singleaires. It has 20 bunks, which will be used for women. The men will be in four man family rooms. We will share the cooking of full dinners and breakfasts in the spacious Hostel kitchen. Bag lunches will be prepared from deli stuff provided. You provide your own bag lunch only on Monday. On Wednesday, Apr 17, after breakfast, we will have a walk along the shore of Drakes Bay and a picnic lunch before returning

Fri-Sun April 26-28 Pinnacles National Monument Car Camping – at this National Monument. Hike on Sat at the best time for flowers. The hikes provide grand vistas. Limited to 12 people. Sat April 27 Garden Concert - Cowboys, The Pioneers and the Popular Ones. 3:00 to 5:15 PM, intermission with refreshments. LIMIT 30 PERSONS.-- RESERVATION REQUIRED & at least 20 reservations needed by April 13. Enjoy music and drama on a pleasant afternoon in a quiet pastoral backyard, adjacent to a park and overlooking a small creek.
Mister Barky (Ernest Kinsolving and Karl Franzen) will be exploring two flavors of "cowboy music" for your entertainment. First, they will present some of the music of the pioneers and herdsman that settled in the American west during the nineteenth century. After intermission they will indulge in the more modern, popular songs -- sung by everyone from Gene Autry to Bing Crosby -- that were written to celebrate the cowboy mystique long after the golden age of the cowboys was done. Put on your spurs, saddle up and join in a few sing-alongs!

May 10-12 (Fri-Sun ) 16th Annual Sunol Regional Wilderness Backpack. Have fun on a 2 night backpack on the other side of nearby Mission Peak with lots of wild flowers. Start Fri. after work (or at 3 PM), hike 3.5 miles and 900 ft. up to camp at the Sunol Eagles Eyrie backpack site. Saturday we have a choice of:( 1) Hike 7 miles to Maggie's Half Acre overnight camp or (2) Do a day hike and return to a 2nd overnight at Eagles Eyrie. Choice can be made at camp Sat night. On Sunday the high group hikes downhill to join the lower group to return to cars. You bring your own food for meals. Leaders will provide hot water and limited stove use. Limited group size. June 4-5 Mini-Backpack to Angel Island with Amazing Lights. We
will take Tiburon Ferry to Angel Island, carry packs 2 miles with 250 ft
elevation gain to setup tents, then explore the island, visit Chinese
Immigration Station and gun batteries. After dinner, we'll do a night
hike to the highest point on the island, where we get an incredible 360
degree view of the Bay Area lights and bridges. Cost: $30, including
ferry, parking, park fees, and hot dinner. BYO bag lunch for Tuesday,
snacks, and Wednesday breakfast (hot water provided). We'll buy
Wednesday lunch at Angel Island harbor. You carry personal gear, sleeping bag, pad and your share of tents and dinner stuff. Depart from Woodside car pool at 8:15AM Tuesday June 4; return by 3:30PM Wednesday. Leader:

July 14 - 22 (Sun thru Mon) (tentative) Sierra Safari. This trip will have 2 parts. The first is Sun July 14 through Thurs July 18 camping at Crane Flat in Yosemite. We will visit Glacier Point and hike the Sentinel Dome Trail and the Pohono Trail over looking the valley. The second day we will spend time in the valley and see the water falls. The Third day we will visit Tuolumne Grove and hike the trails around Crane Flat. The fourth day is a travel day to Caples Lake Resort. On the way we will visit Hodgdon Meadow before exiting Yosemite. Re-supply can be done at Angels Camp on Hwy 49. Thurs July 18 through Mon 22 will be at Caples Lake Resort on Hwy 88. We will stay in cabins or in rooms in the resort. The Resort is right on the lake. Friday we will car pool to Carson Pass and hike on the Pacific Crest Trail to Frog Lake and on to Winnemucca Lake. This hike will be through some of the most fantastic flower displays in the Sierras. Additional hikes are planed for Sat and Sun. Camp trip to Yosemite will be $60 per person, the stay at Caples Lake Resort will be $400 per person for those staying in the cabins. Forever:The Outings Committee is now offering a new mentoring program designed for would-be new hike leaders and co-leaders who may be unsure if they want to lead before committing to the regular program for hike leader training that is required by the Sierra Club. You can find out by using Bobbie Burri as a mentor. She will show how she goes through all the steps from initial planning and preparation, pre-hike scouting, trailhead talk, trail protocol, and then you will co-lead one of her hikes with her.Here
