The Loma Prieta Sierra Singleaires
2B Hiking, August 28

Ready, willing, able and anxious to start our hike.  Larry Stafford (Co-leader) and Frank Bryn (Hike Leader) on the right.

We gather around the hike leader for introductions and last minute instructions.

The "Notel Motel."  Several of our hikers are headed inside to check out the nightly rates.

The solution to the energy crisis, Tar Water Creek.  At first blush, it appears to be a consequence of the Exxon Valdez.  I wonder.

Our hiking group, checking out Tarwater Creek

We were going to check out the closed down Juvenile Honor Camp but.   Well, a rather intimidating Deputy Dawg came out of the woods and accused us of trespassing, demanding to know how we got into his jail without a court order.  It turns out, one of us had a Monopoly "Get out of jail." card which we gave the Deputy and then we all back tracked to a safe place, out of gun shot range, to have lunch.

So we gather for lunch and socializing remarking what a beautiful perfect hiking day this is.

Now we can relax, contemplating the hike back up to the parking lot from our low vantage point on the trail.  The hike back was uneventful.  Everybody returned safe and sound.  A few of us swooped down on Alice's and tipped a beer or three and some Sweet Potato fries which were a tiny bit limp, probably from hiking too much.
